As mentioned in previous posts, a mayor issue of this game is that the virtual space is bigger than the real area to access with Vive. So we came up with a experimental way of entering new rooms: The player walks towards a door to another room / edge of Vive area. His view darkens and after confirmation he turns around 180° to enter Vive area again. Meanwhile the virtual environment changes to the entrance of the new room: The player can now enter the new room!
I know, that sounds quite confusing and not intuitive or easy to navigate. But the other students as well as our professor came along exceptional well. Looking forward to test that mechanic on actual users…
